Winnie seems to be lost.
If she drinks from that stream, her age could frost.
The Tuck family takes her in.
At first she did not like them, but all she can do now is grin.
Twisting corners, these chapters get more complex.
What do YOU think will happen next?

What would it be like to live forever?
What would you do?
Would you tell anyone?
Would you want tor
This is what is happening to Mae Tuck and her family. For the past 87 years Mae's family has looked the same. They stumbled across a spring, in a clearing, with lots of sunshine, and a big tree with knobby roots. Then, they all drank from the spring and became immortal.
The Man in the Yellow Suit
While Winnie was catching fireflies in her front yard a man in a yellow suit appeared. He was tall and skinny with a long chin that faded into his beard. The man had asked Winnie about the family he was trying to find. The man was asking for Winnie's father. Later when Winnie was taken by the Tuck family the man followed and heard the Tuck's family story.
Tuck was talking with Winnie about immortality, and what would happen if people found out about the spring. They were on a boat in the pake. Suddenly, Miles had shouted out that someone stole the horse.
The man in the yellow suit had stolen the horse to get to town quickly.
When he got to town on the horse, he then talked to the town's constable, and convinced him to come with him and find Winnie.

Jesse and Winnie's Relationship
How'd it be if you was to wait till you're seventeen, same age as me-heck, that's only six years off-and then you could go and drink some, and then you could go away with me! We could get married, even.
What do you think would Jesse and Winnie make a good couple?
What do you think would Jesse and Winnie make a good couple?
The man in the yellow suit arrived at the house and took Winnie and was going to bring her back to her parents.
The man in the yellow suit came up with an evil plan. He had known all along about the Tuck's immortality. So, he had bought the wood, and made plans to sell the fountain's water to people!
But Mae intervened. She hit the man in the yellow suit in the back of the head with the butt of Tuck's old shotgun. And even worse, the constable had shown up and saw the entire thing.

Winnie escapes from her house to meet up with the Tucks at midnight to break out Mae from the jail
As Winnie is sitting in front of her house looking through the fence, she sees Jesse coming down the road. Jesse stops in front of the Foster's house and whispers the plan to Winnie. "Winnie we are planning to break Mae out of jail tonight. Miles is going to take out the nails of the cell window and Mae is going to slip out. After Miles is going to put the window back in place." Then Winnie asks Jesse if she can help by taking place of Mae in the cell so they can run away all night. Jesse agrees but before he leaves to go tell the Tucks, Jesse gives Winnie a bottle of the water from the spring so that when she turns 17 that she can drink it and go find the Tucks. Winnie agreed to leave her house at 12:00 at night to meet up with the Tucks at the jail. About an hour befor she has to leave she acidentily falls a sleep. She wakes up shacking in fear she missed the leaving time, but it is five minutes before 12:00.
She meets up with the Tucks and just before she gets to the jail a thunderstorm starts. Miles is up on a box undoing the 12 nails and when the window is undone , Mae's face appears in the hole where the window was. It takes Mae a minute or so to wiggle her way out of the window frame and Winnie climbs into the dark and dreary cell. She uses the sheets to stay hidden and waits until morning to be found.
