Our dear friend, the toad, has inspired Winnie to begin her journey. Winnie, wanting to be as free as the toad,
has left the security of her home to venture into the unfamiliar world.
has left the security of her home to venture into the unfamiliar world.
This is Winnie Foster. She is only ten years old when she learns the Tuck's life changing secret. She was always bored in her adventureless world but when she is kidnapped by the Tucks, she gets more of an adventure than she wanted.
Jesse Tuck is the one that Winnie has a crush on, although he is seventeen and she is merely ten. Jesse, along with all of the other Tucks, has been his same age of seventeen for eighty-seven years. He came to be that way by drinking from a magical spring that granted him and the other Tucks eternal existence.
Then there is Miles. He is a young man that used to have a wife and children. After drinking from the spring, evidently, he had to let them go before skepticism was present. He has a good heart and will always support and protect his beloved family.
The kind mother, Mae Tuck is our next character. She has always wanted to protect her family's secret, but it can be hard if someone was a witness. Mae is always optimistic and she puts her life to the best of use.
Angus Tuck is the true leader in the family, since he is the oldest. He is the father of Jesse and Miles and a loyal, considerate member of part of the family.
This is the man in the yellow suit. He may act kind on the outside, but don't let his charm deceive you. He is a cruel being that learns the secret of the spring only so that he may use it to his benefit. He buys the Fosters' wood from them, steals the Tucks' horse, and tries to put the Tucks under arrest!
Here is the wood that the Fosters are the proud owners of. Winnie has lived here her whole life. This is the place where the spring's delicate secret is hidden from all, that is, until Winnie finds it.
Next is the Tucks' house. Although the boys are usually out at several places, this small home has always been the place that they come back to. There home is located right next to a pond where Miles would often go fishing. It is pleasant and reserved where the Tucks can keep their big secret with ease.
Finally, the Fosters' home is a pristine touch-me-not cottage in the woods. The grass out front is short-cut with a high fence surrounding it. The yard and home carry the message to visitors that they are not welcome and that they should go away.
